The foundation of an OSN infrastructure is proven, high-performance 3Com® routers and switches that ensure secure, reliable network connectivity.

A Linux-based Open Services Networking Module (OSN|M) is integrated within 3Com routers and switches to provide an open service delivery platform from which a variety of software-based services can be run.

The OSN Control Agent (OSN|CA), embedded in the OSN Module, tightly integrates the solution. Driven through a secure web portal, the OSN|CA provides a set of security, provisioning and management tools that includes a traffic control engine and mechanisms to facilitate upgrades, backup and multi-unit installation. This advanced software is critical for efficient distribution and management of applications, secure access to the network's switching and routing features and advanced failover and fault tolerance.
