OSN Applications

The true innovative nature of the OSN initiative is the freedom it gives organizations to determine the best applications for their networks and to choose the sources for those applications. Applications that enhance security, management, control and network optimization, as well as those that deliver convergence, collaboration and productivity-enhancing tools run on OSN Modules and are made available in pre-tested and supported solutions via the 3Com® Open NetworkT Program. Program staff provide 3Com technology partners with a wealth of resources and support capabilities to facilitate joint solutions development with 3Com.

As business requirements evolve and technology advances, organizations that take advantage of the OSN initiative can choose from a virtually unlimited range of applications-fully integrated on the OSN-enabled platform-and from a variety of development sources-including 3Com, third-party independent software vendors (ISVs), customers' in-house developers or even members of the open source development community-that can be extensively customized to the needs of any environment.

While other vendor's offer variations of integrated networking platforms, they take an approach that limits solution choices to technology developed by one vendor, an approach that restrains innovation, increases the time to market for new solutions and locks customers into that single vendor's portfolio.
